The catalog identifies #3133 FOP as 'linerless'. What in the philatelic world is a 'linerless' stamp and how do I tell the difference?

Hi,

Linerless means that there is no backing paper under the stamp. The stamps stick to the stamp below it. Kind of like post-it notes or a roll of tape. I'm not too familiar with telling the difference with used stamps. I think the only way to collect these mint is to buy a whole roll. Too bad Tom Harley's computer is not working. He probably could add to this discussion.
