A long time ago a knowledgeable professional dealer advised me that, given the ratio between fakes or reprints and genuine classic Papal State stamps, if I found an example, it was almost guaranteed to be a fabrication of some kind.

A long time ago a knowledgeable professional dealer advised me that, given the ratio between fakes or reprints and genuine classic Papal State stamps, if I found an example, it was almost guaranteed to be a fabrication of some kind.
