I thought some members would like to see the latest releases from Australia Post.
For the topical bird collector a very nice set of Australian Waterbirds .Issued 6th March.Four stamps in sheet format ,plus the two high values were released in peal & stick format in sheetlets of five stamps.
The second set are Australian Antarctic Territory a set of three stamps issued as sheet stamps and as a mini Sheet.

This is AP's latest release .Afraid I looked at it and though to myself (why bother) It's to mark the 100th Anniversary of compulsory voting .
I always thought in a democracy it was all about freedom of choice?????

The enrol to vote is interesting and I find it amazing that some of the differences between Aus and USA voting system has not been mentioned.
In Australia if you do not vote you get 3 meals a day, a roof over your head and a single bed to sleep in. Yes! You end up in jail if you do not pay a nasty fine, penalty for not voting. Makes for a totally different type of government running Australia than one that is in the USA.

An example of a leader lying to the people in Australia. Not even a week ago Queensland (State of Australia) had a State election for the political party to run Queensland for the next three years.
There are 89 seats or areas that are represented by all parties in an election by a person from each political party and voting is compulsory. Everybody over 18 years has to vote or else you are in big trouble.
The leader that was in power was a full on lier and the people hated it. They treated the people like they could do anything and they would still be voted in at the election. They were in power for 20 years.
That political party suffered the biggest defeat in Australia's history because they lied to the people. To govern you have to have 45 of the 89 seats to win. The opposition looks like they have won 80 seats. The ruling party lost over 50 seats to have only 5 and 4 seats to have gone to the minor political people.
Qeenslander's said no to lying. Queenslander's said no to spending more money than Queensland earns. They voted from the conscience. The lying political party that runs Australia is on notice. It is the next lying political party that is going to loose in such a way to make history as well. Do not upset Australian's or you will make history.

I can't wait till Abbott wins the next Australian federal election (and scraps the Carbon Tax )so the price of everything that went up due to Labors introduction of this tax will come down YEA my foot.You can bet your bottom dollar Mr Joe public will see nothing.The rich get richer

On the 4th of July 1991, Chang was shot twice in the head in a failed extortion attempt. His body was found slumped in the gutter next to his car in Mosman. Two Malaysian men, Chew Seng (Ah Sung) Liew and Choon Tee (Phillip) Lim, ran their car into Chang's vehicle, forcing him to pull over. After Chang refused to give them money and got into an argument with them, Liew fired the fatal shots. He was sentenced to 26 years in prison with a non-parole period of 20 years. Lim received a minimum of 18 years and a maximum of 24 years. Liew pleaded guilty and Lim pleaded not guilty, claiming he did not know Liew had a gun. Another man, Stanley Ng, abandoned an extortion plan a day before the murder. He had unsuccessfully tried detaining Chang twice to force him to give A$3 million. Ng was granted immunity for his evidence. The prosecution alleged the plan had been to abduct Chang, tie him up with his family at his home in Clontarf, and threaten to hang them to coerce Chang into withdrawing money from the bank. In his ruling, Supreme Court Judge John Slattery stated, "It was an absurd, improbable plan, always doomed to failure".
On 26 October 2009, Lim was awarded parole. Following a public outcry and objection by the New South Wales Corrective Services Minister, John Robertson, his release was put on hold, pending another parole hearing. In the New South Wales Supreme Court, that decision was quashed due to the Parole Authority making a procedural error. Lim was freed from Parramatta Correctional Centre on 1 March 2010 into the custody of immigration officers. He was to be deported back to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on 2 March, but the flight was cancelled for "technical reasons".] He was flown out of Australia on 3 March.

I was in Australia in January, while there I visited the Post Office and attempted to buy a paperback "History of the Australian Post". Imagine my chagrin and disappointment when the young lady clerk refused to sell the item to me. She said that the item had been withdrawn from sale because it was not in her computerized register.

Les, interesting. I had never heard of that book.
Gallipoli should indeed have had an impact on Sir Winston's thinking in the second world war. As Lord of the Admiralty in the first war, Gallipoli was HIS idea, although he can't be blamed for its poor execution.
I don't recall Sir Winston ever mentioning Gallipoli as having had an influence on his strategy for the Second World War in his 6-volume memoirs of the war. It seems to me that the Italian campaign was not dissimilar in its strategic end-around, nor in its execution, nor even in its relative merits to the Allies. And, like Gallipoli, the Italian campaign was Sir Winston's determined idea (although its execution was mostly Mark Clark's).
Looks like Australian Post has met its goal: never forget.

Marshall (a Clausewitz disciple) wanted to go to the heart of Germany via France in 1942. Brooke was opposed to invading too soon because he rightly feared the Wehrmacht's fighting prowess. Churchill feared another disaster on the beaches. Roosevelt wanted US troops in action in 1942. The compromise was Torch, Husky, before Overlord, but it was not without a lot of distrust and angst.
It is a good read.

Of course, Torch need not have turned into an invasion of Italy, but kept to either North Africa or that and the Mediterranean islands. The problem with Italy, like Gallipoli, was the terrain. Worse, once having captured Italy, the Allies really hadn't improved their strategic posture, other than having removed an ineffective enemy from the equation.
But, of course, I have the virtue of hindsight and no responsibility for the results of what I would propose.

Race Horse Souvenir sheets commemorating the most famous Australian race horse Black Caviar.Issued in a folder two sheets of ten stamps using Sc# 3313 as the base stamp each with a tab with a photo of each of his 20 consecutive wins.

" .... The compromise was Torch, Husky, before Overlord, ...." and Operation Dragoon right after Overlord. Two of my uncles took part, one in the army manning a 105mm howitzer and dragging it all the way to Paris. The other was an engineer on a large C-4 cargo ship that carried the tools of war.
Few people beyond WW II scholars realise that just as the Wermacht was getting organized in Normandy and Patton was "breaking out" the Dragoon operations opened up a front behind German lines.

About mid August in 1944 the Seventh Army along with the Free French landed in southern France.
This was just as the Germans were pulling back from being trapped around Falaise by Patton's lightening right hook and meeting up with the Brits who had been stuck before Caen for some time. Suddenly they had to contend with the landing in their rear and a drive up the Rhone River Valley which became eventually a link up with the Normandy forces.
While some commentators refer to it as the Riveria landing as the initial paratroops and seabourne forces faced lighter resistance it was dead serious to the two thousand fatalities.
Normandy, the biggest amphibious landing in the European Theater gets a lot of publicity, but all in all the successful Liberation of France had several interlocking components.
The movie "To Hell and Back" starring CMH surviver Audie Murphey tells some of that story.

This issue is strictly not postal.This Intaglio imperf mini sheet should have been issued last year,but due to printing problems has been delayed until now .This is another fund raiser for Australia 2013.Stamp value $4.00 cost from the Post Office $15.00.They were issued along with a normal pair and a minisheet with different designs (haven't been able to get them yet)
The Intaglio mini sheets were printed in the US by BurdgeCooper New World Printing.

Feeling much better thankyou,I had my first checkup yesterday and was told everything looks fine.
We have re-booked our trip to the UK for later this year, hope we mange to get there this time. Re-booking fees and more travel insurance all extra expense.I could be spending it on stamps ha ha.
As this problem is hereditary I have had to inform all my side of the family to get a check up. Just to make sure.

Funny you should mention postally used Olympic Stamps as I do have the complete sets of the Australian Gold Medal winners for 2000 and 2004 used on commercial covers tucked away somewhere.

Just an observation, in Australia they associate Santa and Christmas with both summer and winter. In the US most of the country does not get snow or much snow in the winter yet we associate Santa almost exclusively with snow. When I was 6 or 7 I remember being in California at Christmas feeling very depressed because there wasn't any snow. My cousin felt sorry for me and took me to a neighborhood Christmas dispay where someone had painted their lawn white. It just wasn't the same.
Some US stamps of Santa and his reindeer at South Beach or enjoying the winter surf in southern California would be a change.
I have to assume Santa winters in Austrailia when he isn't working. He really needs to lose that red suit when he is on the beach though.

Usually there is a dealer who will handle new issues , probably advertises in Linn's,just a question of finding them.You could contact the head Post Office in the country who's stamps you want to see what they can offer.
I can, if anyone wishes obtain Australian new issues for face value plus postage, postage would have to be factored in depending on the size of the item and weight .Ordinary sets for which you could get several of in one envelope up to 50 grams costs $2.55 .But, looking at larger items which would require extra packing would be more costly .

I just picked this bit of information up off of another board .Australia to increase international postage charges .
The $1.60 postcard rate will increase to $1.70.
The $1.65 Asia/Pacific (up to 50g) and Greetings card rate will increase to $1.75.
The $2.35 Rest of World (up to 50g) rate will increase to $2.60.
The $4.50 Asia/Pacific (50g-250g) rate will increase to $4.65.
The $6.20 Rest of World (50g-250g) rate will increase to $6.45.
They can't be making enough money out of stamp collectors 
this is to take place in April maybe the 1st
A set of five gummed stamps (one for each of the above rates) will be issued on 2 April 2013. Self-adhesive versions of the $1.70, $1.75 and $2.60 stamps will be available, and no doubt personalised versions of these three will be available too.

Here's A.P's third issue for the month ,Landscapes ,paintings from the National Gallery of Australia issued 19 March .
It's a strip of 5 x 60 cents with a decorative gutter,also issued as a booklet of 10 S/A.
This is the last issue before the international postal rates go up at the beginning of next month to the US,Canada and Europe it will go up from $2-35 AU to $2-60 AU.
I bet the mail does not get delivered any faster though?

Here is the first issue of the new uprated international postage stamps .Issue date 2-4-2013.The new rates are applicable from the 8-4-2013,which ultimately means I will have to increase my postal charges (sorry).Issued in sheet format and also a $1-75 S/A booklet of 5 and a S/A booklet of 5 of the $2-60 the stamps are as follows $1-70,$1-75,$2-60,$4-65 and $6-45 all up a set will be $17-15 this does not include the two S/A

The 9th of April saw the release of Australia Post's latest issue "Diamond Jubilee Coronation".Two stamps 1 x60c and 1 x $2-60 new international postage rate for zone D
As usual they came as a minisheet ,a sheetlet of ten of the 60c this is also available as an embellished sheetlet and a sheetlet of 5x $2-60 S/A.
Any of these will be worth keeping on cover as single stamps used in period only increase in value.

Now this is one beautiful stamp.
I remember being about thirteen years old and living in a Levitt house with my parents.
TV was in its infancy and only a few homes had sets, and those that did had these gigantic Dumont or Motorola models built into a substantial cabinet. But the tube, at least the one we had was about 7" on a side. They were black and white of course and signals were received via a large antenna that had to be mounted atop ones roof as high as possible. Those antennae became so common that photos of the day usually refer to them as a "rooftop forest." On the best of days the signals we received from New York City were somewhat snowy and at times completely incomprehensible.
The Coronation was a big event and of course filmed in London for distribution to all the colonies and former colonies around the world. So I recall listening to the static filled radio re-broadcast, more or less in real time on my five tube superhetrodyne receiver and as best I remember everyone awaited the arrival of the raw footage so we could see it in our living rooms.
A few miles East of Levittown and our house lay Mitchel Field, a large sprawling Air Force base that often was the home of the nations biggest bombers.
The film of the Coronation was carried from England in a BOAC DeHaviland Comet, the first one I had seen and possibly the first to land in the US. Because of its size it needed a long runway to accommodate it and the commercial airports were not yet able to handle transoceanic jets.
So the Comet passed almost directly over my head and the film canisters were driven to the TV studios in New York City where it was prepared to be broadcast on US TV channels.
There was a delay caused by some difference in the way TV films were produced in England and the USA so it took hours for the raw footage to be converted, but finally the Coronation was shown and I remember watching it totally transfixed by the extravaganza. In particular there was this stately coach drawn by eight white horses that we now see in living color on this stamp.
PS: Minor Trivia, Mitchel Field was named after a local politician, not General Billy Mitchel who certainly deserved such an honor and is the only person that a US Military aircraft has been named after. That is the famous B-25 of the Doolittle raid fame.

Here is the last of this months Australia Post's releases 23rd April Australian Botanic Gardens II.Issued in sheet format 5x60 cent strip,with decorative gutter.
Also issued as a Prestige Booklet and a roll of 200 S/A.
Next month will be a doozy with the big exhibition in Melbourne, so look forward to lots of new issues including a $10-00 Kangaroo and map based on the early 1913 design.

Well it's the 10th of May and the big stamp exhibition starts today in Melbourne,it also marks the start of this months new issues from Australia Post.
We'll kick of with the new $10-00 Kangaroo & map issued in sheet format and a mini sheet and also a specimen sheetlet pack a sheet of ten with various OS perfins, OS O/P and Specimen O/P.at a cost of $40-45 afraid I've got better things to spend my money on.

AP brought out a third issue on Friday 10th May at the World Stamp Expo, one not mentioned in the Stamp Bulletin. It's a 60 cent single, a lovely head shot of Black Caviar, see 4th entry down on cover:

Also in the same vein a trifolder of Black Caviar's 25 consecutive race wins 25 x 60c stamps all with tabs depicting her racing wins.
Unlike the previous release of her winning races folder, were the tab were half the depth of the attached stamps.These new stamps have tabs the same size as the stamps.

Here we are with the first of this month's new issues.Issued on the 2nd of July the second series of Road Trip Australia.Unlike the fist set these are all 60 cents each and are a set of five.Issued in sheet format and a mini sheet also a S/A booklet.There is also a special sheet which as far as I'm aware is S/A and includes stamps from both issues. this is going for $12-95 There are also five different gutter strips which will set you back another $30-00
For anyone who has an interest in automobiles the pink car in the bottom R/H stamp is a Leyland P76 one of the first Australian cars to have an all alloy V8 engine,and you could fit a 44 gallon drum in the boot it was that big.A great car I had one and we went all over Australia in it.mine was white though

For the topical bird collector a very nice set of Australian Waterbirds .Issued 6th March.Four stamps in sheet format ,plus the two high values were released in peal & stick format in sheetlets of five stamps.
The second set are Australian Antarctic Territory a set of three stamps issued as sheet stamps and as a mini Sheet.

The enrol to vote is interesting and I find it amazing that some of the differences between Aus and USA voting system has not been mentioned.
In Australia if you do not vote you get 3 meals a day, a roof over your head and a single bed to sleep in. Yes! You end up in jail if you do not pay a nasty fine, penalty for not voting. Makes for a totally different type of government running Australia than one that is in the USA.

An example of a leader lying to the people in Australia. Not even a week ago Queensland (State of Australia) had a State election for the political party to run Queensland for the next three years.
There are 89 seats or areas that are represented by all parties in an election by a person from each political party and voting is compulsory. Everybody over 18 years has to vote or else you are in big trouble.
The leader that was in power was a full on lier and the people hated it. They treated the people like they could do anything and they would still be voted in at the election. They were in power for 20 years.
That political party suffered the biggest defeat in Australia's history because they lied to the people. To govern you have to have 45 of the 89 seats to win. The opposition looks like they have won 80 seats. The ruling party lost over 50 seats to have only 5 and 4 seats to have gone to the minor political people.
Qeenslander's said no to lying. Queenslander's said no to spending more money than Queensland earns. They voted from the conscience. The lying political party that runs Australia is on notice. It is the next lying political party that is going to loose in such a way to make history as well. Do not upset Australian's or you will make history.

On the 4th of July 1991, Chang was shot twice in the head in a failed extortion attempt. His body was found slumped in the gutter next to his car in Mosman. Two Malaysian men, Chew Seng (Ah Sung) Liew and Choon Tee (Phillip) Lim, ran their car into Chang's vehicle, forcing him to pull over. After Chang refused to give them money and got into an argument with them, Liew fired the fatal shots. He was sentenced to 26 years in prison with a non-parole period of 20 years. Lim received a minimum of 18 years and a maximum of 24 years. Liew pleaded guilty and Lim pleaded not guilty, claiming he did not know Liew had a gun. Another man, Stanley Ng, abandoned an extortion plan a day before the murder. He had unsuccessfully tried detaining Chang twice to force him to give A$3 million. Ng was granted immunity for his evidence. The prosecution alleged the plan had been to abduct Chang, tie him up with his family at his home in Clontarf, and threaten to hang them to coerce Chang into withdrawing money from the bank. In his ruling, Supreme Court Judge John Slattery stated, "It was an absurd, improbable plan, always doomed to failure".
On 26 October 2009, Lim was awarded parole. Following a public outcry and objection by the New South Wales Corrective Services Minister, John Robertson, his release was put on hold, pending another parole hearing. In the New South Wales Supreme Court, that decision was quashed due to the Parole Authority making a procedural error. Lim was freed from Parramatta Correctional Centre on 1 March 2010 into the custody of immigration officers. He was to be deported back to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on 2 March, but the flight was cancelled for "technical reasons".] He was flown out of Australia on 3 March.

I was in Australia in January, while there I visited the Post Office and attempted to buy a paperback "History of the Australian Post". Imagine my chagrin and disappointment when the young lady clerk refused to sell the item to me. She said that the item had been withdrawn from sale because it was not in her computerized register.

Les, interesting. I had never heard of that book.
Gallipoli should indeed have had an impact on Sir Winston's thinking in the second world war. As Lord of the Admiralty in the first war, Gallipoli was HIS idea, although he can't be blamed for its poor execution.
I don't recall Sir Winston ever mentioning Gallipoli as having had an influence on his strategy for the Second World War in his 6-volume memoirs of the war. It seems to me that the Italian campaign was not dissimilar in its strategic end-around, nor in its execution, nor even in its relative merits to the Allies. And, like Gallipoli, the Italian campaign was Sir Winston's determined idea (although its execution was mostly Mark Clark's).
Looks like Australian Post has met its goal: never forget.

Marshall (a Clausewitz disciple) wanted to go to the heart of Germany via France in 1942. Brooke was opposed to invading too soon because he rightly feared the Wehrmacht's fighting prowess. Churchill feared another disaster on the beaches. Roosevelt wanted US troops in action in 1942. The compromise was Torch, Husky, before Overlord, but it was not without a lot of distrust and angst.
It is a good read.

Of course, Torch need not have turned into an invasion of Italy, but kept to either North Africa or that and the Mediterranean islands. The problem with Italy, like Gallipoli, was the terrain. Worse, once having captured Italy, the Allies really hadn't improved their strategic posture, other than having removed an ineffective enemy from the equation.
But, of course, I have the virtue of hindsight and no responsibility for the results of what I would propose.

" .... The compromise was Torch, Husky, before Overlord, ...." and Operation Dragoon right after Overlord. Two of my uncles took part, one in the army manning a 105mm howitzer and dragging it all the way to Paris. The other was an engineer on a large C-4 cargo ship that carried the tools of war.
Few people beyond WW II scholars realise that just as the Wermacht was getting organized in Normandy and Patton was "breaking out" the Dragoon operations opened up a front behind German lines.

About mid August in 1944 the Seventh Army along with the Free French landed in southern France.
This was just as the Germans were pulling back from being trapped around Falaise by Patton's lightening right hook and meeting up with the Brits who had been stuck before Caen for some time. Suddenly they had to contend with the landing in their rear and a drive up the Rhone River Valley which became eventually a link up with the Normandy forces.
While some commentators refer to it as the Riveria landing as the initial paratroops and seabourne forces faced lighter resistance it was dead serious to the two thousand fatalities.
Normandy, the biggest amphibious landing in the European Theater gets a lot of publicity, but all in all the successful Liberation of France had several interlocking components.
The movie "To Hell and Back" starring CMH surviver Audie Murphey tells some of that story.

This issue is strictly not postal.This Intaglio imperf mini sheet should have been issued last year,but due to printing problems has been delayed until now .This is another fund raiser for Australia 2013.Stamp value $4.00 cost from the Post Office $15.00.They were issued along with a normal pair and a minisheet with different designs (haven't been able to get them yet)
The Intaglio mini sheets were printed in the US by BurdgeCooper New World Printing.

Just an observation, in Australia they associate Santa and Christmas with both summer and winter. In the US most of the country does not get snow or much snow in the winter yet we associate Santa almost exclusively with snow. When I was 6 or 7 I remember being in California at Christmas feeling very depressed because there wasn't any snow. My cousin felt sorry for me and took me to a neighborhood Christmas dispay where someone had painted their lawn white. It just wasn't the same.
Some US stamps of Santa and his reindeer at South Beach or enjoying the winter surf in southern California would be a change.
I have to assume Santa winters in Austrailia when he isn't working. He really needs to lose that red suit when he is on the beach though.

Usually there is a dealer who will handle new issues , probably advertises in Linn's,just a question of finding them.You could contact the head Post Office in the country who's stamps you want to see what they can offer.
I can, if anyone wishes obtain Australian new issues for face value plus postage, postage would have to be factored in depending on the size of the item and weight .Ordinary sets for which you could get several of in one envelope up to 50 grams costs $2.55 .But, looking at larger items which would require extra packing would be more costly .

I just picked this bit of information up off of another board .Australia to increase international postage charges .
The $1.60 postcard rate will increase to $1.70.
The $1.65 Asia/Pacific (up to 50g) and Greetings card rate will increase to $1.75.
The $2.35 Rest of World (up to 50g) rate will increase to $2.60.
The $4.50 Asia/Pacific (50g-250g) rate will increase to $4.65.
The $6.20 Rest of World (50g-250g) rate will increase to $6.45.
They can't be making enough money out of stamp collectors this is to take place in April maybe the 1st
A set of five gummed stamps (one for each of the above rates) will be issued on 2 April 2013. Self-adhesive versions of the $1.70, $1.75 and $2.60 stamps will be available, and no doubt personalised versions of these three will be available too.

Here's A.P's third issue for the month ,Landscapes ,paintings from the National Gallery of Australia issued 19 March .
It's a strip of 5 x 60 cents with a decorative gutter,also issued as a booklet of 10 S/A.

The 9th of April saw the release of Australia Post's latest issue "Diamond Jubilee Coronation".Two stamps 1 x60c and 1 x $2-60 new international postage rate for zone D
As usual they came as a minisheet ,a sheetlet of ten of the 60c this is also available as an embellished sheetlet and a sheetlet of 5x $2-60 S/A.
Any of these will be worth keeping on cover as single stamps used in period only increase in value.

This is one of the stamps from the embellished sheetlet of ten from the Jubilee issue.The coach and the figures around it are all raised above the rest of the image .Afraid it does not show up all that well.

Now this is one beautiful stamp.
I remember being about thirteen years old and living in a Levitt house with my parents.
TV was in its infancy and only a few homes had sets, and those that did had these gigantic Dumont or Motorola models built into a substantial cabinet. But the tube, at least the one we had was about 7" on a side. They were black and white of course and signals were received via a large antenna that had to be mounted atop ones roof as high as possible. Those antennae became so common that photos of the day usually refer to them as a "rooftop forest." On the best of days the signals we received from New York City were somewhat snowy and at times completely incomprehensible.
The Coronation was a big event and of course filmed in London for distribution to all the colonies and former colonies around the world. So I recall listening to the static filled radio re-broadcast, more or less in real time on my five tube superhetrodyne receiver and as best I remember everyone awaited the arrival of the raw footage so we could see it in our living rooms.
A few miles East of Levittown and our house lay Mitchel Field, a large sprawling Air Force base that often was the home of the nations biggest bombers.
The film of the Coronation was carried from England in a BOAC DeHaviland Comet, the first one I had seen and possibly the first to land in the US. Because of its size it needed a long runway to accommodate it and the commercial airports were not yet able to handle transoceanic jets.
So the Comet passed almost directly over my head and the film canisters were driven to the TV studios in New York City where it was prepared to be broadcast on US TV channels.
There was a delay caused by some difference in the way TV films were produced in England and the USA so it took hours for the raw footage to be converted, but finally the Coronation was shown and I remember watching it totally transfixed by the extravaganza. In particular there was this stately coach drawn by eight white horses that we now see in living color on this stamp.
PS: Minor Trivia, Mitchel Field was named after a local politician, not General Billy Mitchel who certainly deserved such an honor and is the only person that a US Military aircraft has been named after. That is the famous B-25 of the Doolittle raid fame.

Here is the last of this months Australia Post's releases 23rd April Australian Botanic Gardens II.Issued in sheet format 5x60 cent strip,with decorative gutter.
Also issued as a Prestige Booklet and a roll of 200 S/A.
Next month will be a doozy with the big exhibition in Melbourne, so look forward to lots of new issues including a $10-00 Kangaroo and map based on the early 1913 design.

Well it's the 10th of May and the big stamp exhibition starts today in Melbourne,it also marks the start of this months new issues from Australia Post.
We'll kick of with the new $10-00 Kangaroo & map issued in sheet format and a mini sheet and also a specimen sheetlet pack a sheet of ten with various OS perfins, OS O/P and Specimen O/P.at a cost of $40-45 afraid I've got better things to spend my money on.
Any how here are the actual usable issues.

AP brought out a third issue on Friday 10th May at the World Stamp Expo, one not mentioned in the Stamp Bulletin. It's a 60 cent single, a lovely head shot of Black Caviar, see 4th entry down on cover:

Also in the same vein a trifolder of Black Caviar's 25 consecutive race wins 25 x 60c stamps all with tabs depicting her racing wins.
Unlike the previous release of her winning races folder, were the tab were half the depth of the attached stamps.These new stamps have tabs the same size as the stamps.

Here we are with the first of this month's new issues.Issued on the 2nd of July the second series of Road Trip Australia.Unlike the fist set these are all 60 cents each and are a set of five.Issued in sheet format and a mini sheet also a S/A booklet.There is also a special sheet which as far as I'm aware is S/A and includes stamps from both issues. this is going for $12-95 There are also five different gutter strips which will set you back another $30-00
For anyone who has an interest in automobiles the pink car in the bottom R/H stamp is a Leyland P76 one of the first Australian cars to have an all alloy V8 engine,and you could fit a 44 gallon drum in the boot it was that big.A great car I had one and we went all over Australia in it.mine was white though
