Sorry in advance if this software is mentioned elsewhere.

I've used many different methods of cataloguing and creating want lists, etc and have found StampCat to be the best program. You can put in there all your information including "Own", "Want" etc - you can print it out into PDF or HTML to put on a website or send in an email. You can filter what you want to send so if in your database, as you add the information, you can still filter when outputting to PDF or HTML you "want" list. You can everything imaginable to each entry including notes, images, etc.

The software is really cheap and I absolutely swear by it - the best I've ever seen. I've been using it for about 5 years or so now and just love it.

It will help for those who have long or short want lists and eliminate time in trying to change things. Things can easily be marked and changed from "want" to "own" in a second. It can back up your files to zip format. If you have several databases you want to put together, you can transfer one into the other.

Anyway, just thought I'd share this - although I'm sure many of you already use StampCat. If you don't, you might want to consider it, especially if you are using Excel or other spreadsheets, because this program will make life a heck of a lot easier for you and let you spend more time on your stamps than trying to record and change things.

Given your avatar, I'm surprised they don't object to StampCAT.

re: StampCat Software

I went to this site and they said online purchasing is no longer available; does anyone know if this is still available? The latest update appears to be October 2012.

If it is no longer available, can anyone recommend a similar program to inventory one's collection?

Thanks.
Peter

re: StampCat Software

I also have the StampCat program and am very pleased with it as well. I am very familiar with Microsoft Access database, and so this program is very comfortable for me.

If you want to purchase the registration for this program, just download the version on the website. Then send an email to the author at info@fnprg.com and let him know that you wish to purchase the registration for the StampCat program. He will email you back with the PayPal account to send the money.

Cheers,
Terry

The website has a $29.95 price but it states clearly that the online store is closed. I didn't try to email the owner as suggested.

Here's a screen shot of prices and the warning label.

I emailed the site admin to ask about the online checkout; here was the response.

"I'm sorry, but it is currently not possible to order via our website. I do not know when the online store will reopen."

The download appears to work but I like to have actual disc versions; just my "old fashioned" way I guess.

Cheers,
Peter
