Roy,It just so happensthat theLINNS STAMP NEWS has a front page story about these newspaper stamps.Although it isnt the one you picture, but a more rare one,it also elaborates on the subject.
It is the current issue for 11/18/02,vol.75,issue 3864.
If you dont subscrine to Linns, you can find it on the web, just type LINNS STAMP NEWS in the search box.it will give you a number of links,go to linns with latest news. you will find it quite useful.
Anyways ,the article tells about the $36,$48,and $60 issues.these are the hard to find newspaper rev. stamps.

I had about ten of them last year that I sold to a dealer. All different of course. They fetched a pretty good chunk of change.
Wow, Tin, that post was over 11 years ago! Where did you find it?
I was just sorting through a collection of US BOB (Back of the Book) material I bought this weekend, and I thought I would take a moment to share a stamp in the spirit of "Here's a pretty stamp you have likely never seen before".
Scott #PR123 $20 Periodical Stamp 1896
Anybody else have any to share along the same line?
