Lisa, thank you for the honorable mention!
That stamp was listed in the auction a month or so ago, probably while you were having issues and didn't get to see the stamp. Lee said she scanned it at a different setting and that's what caused the many colors, since it's just a two color stamp and is itself quite beautiful. I liked it so much that I decided to make it one of my many avatar's to use here on SOR.
Maybe some stamp issuing countries should make errors like that and create some more desirable stamps for us.
Mike
Mike, the problem with countries making stamps more desirable for collectors is that they tend to plop a high face value on them.....
....and also usually make them the most beautiful stamp of the set.
Talk about an addiction. Maybe someone needs to start an SCAA, (Stamp Collerctor's Addiction Anonymous). I would be the first to not join, since it would take time away from my collecting habits.
Mike
SCAA meetings: "Hello, my name is _________. I haven't touched, licked, sniffed, soaked, hinged, or mounted a stamp in ____________."
Then, someone sitting back in the corner turns away from the group and takes a snort of watermark fluid....
When you got it bad, you got it bad.
I love it when posts make me laugh Thank you, gentlemen.
Oh Michael - too good, just too good!! LOL
....then someone takes a snort of watermark fluid ...
Great morning laugh I got there Michael
What is an "Avatar" , Besides a very cool movie
In "geek-ese," an avatar is a graphical representation of a user. The most frequent usage for "avatars" are on chat boards and discussion groups. The term is derived from the Hindu concept of a material manifestation of a deity.
I see now we are manifestations of Hindu deities. OMG, I didn't know.
Hi all,
I know some of us keep the same picture for our avatars all the time (I'm in this category) but there are members who change theirs from time to time. I feel Mike's (CapeStampMan) deserves a mention! It's a beautiful stamp and I love the quote! Don't worry Mike, I'll be at the darn airport with you!
