When uploading images, it would make it so much easier to read the written portion of the post if you first resize your image so that it is no larger than necessary to illustrate your post. If there is one portion you want to emphasize, upload a reduced sized image of the entire illustration, and then crop the section you want to emphasize and post an enlargement of it beneath the full image.

When you upload an image which is very wide, the screen automatically opens up to permit the image to be displayed. Unfortunately, this also widens the script area and readers have to constantly scroll side to side to read the posts.

Just a thought...

Very good idea, Bobby. It does get irratating to have to keep scrolling to the right, then the left just to read an item.

re: Please upload images which are no larger than necessary to illustrate your post

I work my images here the same as I do on other sites. I don't know why, but here they almost always blow out. Tim, is there a way you can set a maximum size (by this I mean length x width, not file size) for uploaded images so they stay within a certain dimension and keep the pages from expanding? If an image is too wide, one can always right click on the image to view it in its entirety.

To make things a little easier, if the uploaded image is greater than 900px wide, the program now resizes the image so that it is 900px wide.

That's great, because screwing around with scan sizes and other hings that may seem easy to some of you just laves me in the dust.
I tried resizing some images though Photobucket and most times gave up in disgust.
A few times it worked but I have no idea why.
