It's hard to tell, because people sometimes use different user names on different sites. However, there is a small group of members with MPPs on BidStart who have a Forum posting there where they discuss and swap MPP cancels.
I checked a couple of months ago about getting an MPP. I was told that USPS no longer issues those permits to non-businesses. To get one now, you have to have a registered business and pay an annual fee of $250. While I have a registered business, I don't have $250 a year to throw into that.
There is no fee and anyone can have a permit. That said...try to find a postal employee who knows his/her job. There is a club: Mailers Postmark Permit Club, www.mppclub.org and there is alot of information you can print off and show to the clerk. I got mine only because of the damage done to many covers I would send to fellow collectors. Also I have found that the bulk mail clerk seems more up on these then window clerks.
Thanks, Karl. That was my understanding. I'll check into it. It's like the hassle you get when you try to get a permit to use non-first class postage. I do have that permit, however.
I have one I applied for a few years ago and bought a rubber stamp for, but I have yet to actually use...
