"Thread record was not found. Please inform the Stamporama webmaster"
OK, right after I hit submit for the message above, I saw for a fraction of a second the same error message again, but then it quickly refreshed. I didn't have to refresh the screen manually.
Hi Kim,
Occasionally something can happen that can cause the program to lose connection with the database, which is causing the error that you are seeing. What browser and version are you using?
Regards ... Tim
Hi
I sometimes get the same error message when I go to read a thread.I think I know why it happens.
If I click on the thread while the page is still loading that's when it happens to me.
I only have a ADSL connection which can be a little slow at times.
Brian
Brian got it right - it is the slow connection that is the main reason for this error message due to server timeout. I'm connecting to the net from the farmhouse which is some 32 kms from the city therefore the wireless net connection is not always the promised 2mbps but is as low as kbps at times. I'm always getting this message when the net load is heavy or the wind is blowing in gusts
The message that appears is for other reasons, maybe Tim will rearrange this message to say something like 'Slow connection' please try after some time.
Thanks to all for taking the time to reply, including the mods!
In my case, it is not a slow connection issue because I am getting the message immediately after I click on a the link or when I click on Submit. Maybe I'm not being submissive enough?
There is no delay, I get the error message immediately.
It doesn't bother me, just thought I'd mention it.
Tim, I'm using FireFox 19.0.2. I had upgraded to FF20, but soon found out my stickies add-on didn't work, and also that FF20 did not work properly on a few websites (I tested with other browsers and they worked fine on those websites). So I downgraded back to FF19. Again, the weird thing was a few times today, I saw the error message for a fraction of a second and the screen quickly showed the correct thread, before I had the opportunity to react. Earlier this week, I would have to manually reclick on the link.
OK, this time I see the "brief" message after I click submit, and it says something about "your message has been successfully posted...", and then quick screen redraw. I've seen that before in the past as well. But I remember there used to be a significant delay before the thread/post would re-appear. Now, there a delay of less than a second.
Kim,
I have made a change to the way the database connection is done. Please let me know if this helps with your problem.
All,
Regarding the change I made to try to assist with Kim's problem, I don't think it will cause any other problems, I tested it pretty thoroughly, but if you start seeing any unusual problems, please let me know.
Regards ... Tim.
Thank you, Tim!!!
Not sure what you did, but I haven't run into that problem again.

It's the new emoticons. They work behind the scene in the programming when they are not working in a post!
{EDIT: I just edited the post title, because apparently quotation marks are not accepted in the thread titles.}
In the past few days, I've run into this error after viewing a thread or two, and then logging in to post:
"Thread record was not found. Please inform the Stamporama webmaster"
