If this is not allowed here please let me now and I'll delete the thread.
Here are the first ones I have that deal with the prisoner notification. I'll continue to post the letters as they are translated.
And a telegram from some one else when he was taken prisoner.

And finally where I need the translation help !
This is the first of thirteen letters written over almost to years.
I had to edit out some white space on the address side to make it fit the image size limitations
I hope this isn't asking too much.

"NICHT HIER SCHREIBEN" means "Don't write here."
I can give you the gist of the letter, but not an exact word-for-word translation.
He's writing to a woman, I'm not not sure of his relationship to her, but she is the wife of the person who received the bond notice from Canada. He is thanking her for sending a food package of bread and such. He says he ate it over a week and that it tasted very good. He mentions forgetting about the money (could be the release bond).
I can't translate the middle part well enough for you. He discusses a letter and her food (bread) packages.
He says all is well with him and that the day before he wrote this letter that he received a card from his father. He hopes that she, her loving mother and her brother Hermann are also doing good. He asks her to send his greetings to them. He then closes the letter with heartfelt greetings, Hans Heskjer.

Dear miss Boysen,
One week ago I received the package with the round ryebread and bacon, many thanks for it. It tasted deliciously. The money I got the day before yesterday, it came at the right time. Can you please send me some again this month? Unfortunately my hopes, as expressed in my previous letter, seem to have been premature, because until now, the opposite is the case. If only everything came to an end, one could get out and earn one's daily bread. It will certainly take another one or two years. At home all are well; yesterday I got a card dated 8.7 (July 8th) from my father. I hope you and your dear mother and brother Hermann are also doing fine. Please send them my regards,

I do not think the bond notice was directed to the husband of the addressee. First of all she is called Fräulein ("miss"), secondly the bond notice is addressed to H. Boysen and the brother is called Hermann. Finally Heskjer sends his regards to the mother and the brother. Apparently there is no father anymore to greet.

Thanks very much for the translation help and sorry I haven't been back sooner.
I tried some web searches and found out it appears he was a non combatant as there is a reference to him having a hospital visit on a document on www.fold3.com. I need to subscribe to that website to get the documents they have there but have never tired it before and was hoping someone else might know how legit it is before I sign up.
I also tried google translate on the first letter but I don't think I transcribe the script correctly as this was what I got before I gave up:

Also this one seems to indicate he was Prisoner 944, I checked the Amherst sites and he is not on their list of prisoners they post, so I'm not sure where their info comes from. I hope to do some more searching later this week and see what else I can glean.

I acquired a series of letters and envelopes dealing with a German prisoner of war held in Canada during the first world war. I am going to try to do some research around them but thought I'd see if anyone here would be willing to help to translate them?
