re: Looking for the Value of France Scott# 109 MNH

Hi Ross,

These are interesting stamps. They took me to parts of my Maury catalogue I hadn't been to before!

On the Blanc design this form of SPÉCIMEN overprint was made to create training stamps.

This is from 1925 and in my 2009 catalogue an unmounted mint (MNH) stamp is priced at 60 euros.

I'm more used to the millésime gutter pairs as I collect the similar stamps issued for the French Post Offices in Crete.

This pair with the "2" millésime is I believe for 1912 (pale grey) and if so is priced at 23 euros unmounted mint and 16 euros mounted mint (MH) although I'd expect that the corner damage would reduce this considerably.

All the best,
Nigel

My somewhat aged "Yvert & Tellier" (2003) lists the five series Blanc with just such an overprint. The listed value was about 40 Euros.
