Here are a couple of First Day of Issue commemorative pages, one larger than 9x12, commemorating the 20th anniversary of the Apollo 11 Eagle landing on the moon.
ah, you and John Macco have much to discuss
John is far more advanced in this collecting area than I am; I just acquired a large number of NASA related collectibles, among which are a some space themed stamp sets and covers. Always glad to discuss collecting areas.
Here are scans of my women astronaut collection of autographed covers. I've added a short bio for each.
Sally Ride, first US woman in space; youngest American in space
Bonnie Dunbar, veteran of five space shuttle missions
Shannon Lucid, First Woman on the Space Station Mir; First Mother Selected and Trained by NASA; First Woman to make 3rd, 4th, and 5th Space Flights; Former American Record Holder for Longest Duration in Space; First Women to Receive the Congressional Space Medal of Honor
Rhea Seddon, part of first group of astronauts to include women; flew on three shuttle missions
Ellen Shulman (Baker), three shuttle missions for over 680 hours in space
Kathryn Sullivan, first woman to perform Extra Vehicular Activity (space walk)
Millie Hughes-Fulford, first woman payload specialist
Janice Voss, five shuttle missions including first to MIR space station
Ad astra,
Peter
Peter- great looking covers. thanks for scans.
Thank YOU John for sending me some of your signed covers! What a nice collection I now have! That was very generous of you.
Cheers,
Peter
Yet another area I have building up, somewhat haphazardly though, is space themed stamps. Here are a pair of unused FDC celebrating the Apollo Soyuz; I thought I'd put this up first as I organize my others. I have some astronaut signed covers that I'll post soon too (when I get back from my trip).
Peter
