Hi,
Perhaps Tim can look into this.
My pictures are posted on a picture hosting site and now linking them to my auction does not work. No error message it just goes to a header when I press the next button. If I then use the back button and remove the link I can upload an identical picture directly from my computer and it works fine. I have already linked hundreds from this site with no problem up until now. Picture size is not an issue even a single stamp picture can not be linked. I checked the links and they are working.
In the mean time I can list by uploading the picture directly but this was not my preferred way of doing it.
Regards to all,

Bob (Stampfarm)

Hi Bob,
Can you give me an example of an auction lot where the image display isn't working. All the lots that you have in the auction in the moment seem to be working fine.

Regards ... Tim.

Hi Tim,
I did 15 lots today (all on hold) The first 3 all failed so I switched to upload direct from my computer (The same files but not linked from another site.
The following 3 links all failed:

Hi Bob,

postimg was doing maintenance work so that could have been the problem.

re: Upload of file on outside posting site does not work?

Hi Alyn,
I could not access their site or post any link on the previous day when the maintenance was on going but they were working fine when this problem came up. Normally if the link is not working a stamporama error message will be returned. That is what happened on the maintenance day but with this error there is no message just a page header and nothing below. I tried all 3 links and they all worked from the location bar of my browser.
It is a strange that it occurred right after the maintenance but I have no idea what it might be. Hope Tim can shed some light on it.
Regards,
Bob

re: Upload of file on outside posting site does not work?

Hi Tim,

Some further information on this problem. At the posting site (postimage) They have a choice of "direct link" and "link" as well as a bunch of others that don't apply. On my first lots I downloaded the list of direct links because I have found that they usually work but on the latest batch the choice of direct link had been removed from the list so I tried the "link" choice. The direct link now seems to be available only one at a time for each image in the gallery which is way too much work.
I did some tests on Stamporama and it is the link that does not work. The direct link works fine.
I have emailed postimage to see if the direct links can be restored. I don't know if you can make the link work on Stamporama. When I copy a direct link into my browser window the image is displayed on a black background with nothing else. When I copy the link the same way, the image is displayed with some text below about the posting site. I suspect that this would be a problem on here.
Please let me know what you think.

Best regards,
Bob
