The November–December issue of the Stamp Insider, journal of the Federation of New York Philatelic Societies, is online and available for free download in PDF format or viewing online with page turning. It is available in both PDF and HTML5-friendly format at:

http://www.stampinsider.org

The lead article is “A Must See Stamp Lovers Destination.” Author John M. Hotchner was an eyewitness to the historic opening of the National Postal Museum’s new William H. Gross Gallery.

Mark A. Scheuer describes in detail the United States Philatelic Classics Society’s 1847 census project, which already lists more than 14,600 covers bearing Scott No. 1 and 2 and illustrates more than 7,600 along with descriptions.

Other articles include “A Find Summons a Flashback,” describing a cover purchase that brought back memories for one philatelist, and news of the closing of Stamp Camp USA. Two columns have been added to the Stamp Insider. Steve Swain’s “Stamp In-Sites” will suggest great online resources for collectors. Diane DeBlois, who with Robert Dalton Harris operates aGatherin’ in West Sand Lake, New York, titles her column simply “Ephemera.”

The featured video — “Jenny First Day Ceremony,” provides a seven and a half-minute glimpse of the event for the $2 invert’s release.
