I am very happy to have joined Stamporama, I have been a long time reader and now I'm getting my feet wet (so to speak) with this,...
my first post.Happy

I enjoy collecting WW. Started when I was 9 when my father gave me a book & several country packets, been collecting off & on since.
I recently decided to whip out the collection once again after roughly 5 years of letting it lay. Even though I haven't touched the books themselves for a while, I still habitually gathered stamps, envelopes, well anything postally (spl?)related and placed it in several shoe boxes I keep in the closet.
I find collecting to be soothing and calm which is helpful for those with high blood pressure as myself (once you hit the 50 mark things just don't seem to be they once were).

re: New to the Board, but not to Collecting

Good for you BlaBla. I also started with WW and soon found that I really couldn't handle the pressure. For me, the soothing part didn't come until I organized myself enough to realize I could only really get into a single country to best appreciate what I was into. Then of course the question was which country.

Eventually I settled into the U.S., although I maintain a secondary collection of WW. I have no problem swapping out my WW for needed U.S., although the friends found along the way are really the treasure of the collection.

We have an active swapping section at SOR, so be sure to check it out if you haven't done so already. And of course the auction is a wonderful place to fill in all sorts of things.
Don't be shy about reaching out, exactly as you have just done with your first post.

All good thoughts,
Dan C.

welcome to the fold, and, yes you spelled postally correctly, even though it's beyond spell check's range.
