You will find many members who tout the virtues of Bill Steiner's pages. For those new members who have not been privy to such discussions over the past year, one of the discussions is HERE
Bill Steiner's website is http://www.stampalbums.com/
Note: This is not an endorsement of Bill Steiner's products or recommendation that you utilize them, but I do! His products are not free, but the cost is low (especially if you compare it to the cost of printed albums) and extremely convenient.

I believe (i.e., I saw this somewhere but don't know if it's factual), that the makers of Palo albums contracted with Steiner to use his pages and added illustrations of the stamps to make their albums.
I too use Steiner pages...well...I bought them for my son to use. I just remembered my frustration with the Harris Statesman I had as a kid: not having spaces for all the stamps I might run across. We print the pages on demand, as needed, for him. It works well, but would be nice to have illustrations.
I don't use Palo products, but the layout is only one among a handful of other features you pay for. In addition to the illustrations, you don't have to agonize about getting your own paper or printing the pages. I expended quite a bit of effort finding and obtaining quality paper for my pages (and my son's). The Palo products include nice quality paper, wider than 8 1/2, a quality binder with slip case, and mounts if you buy the higher-end product. Those additions are worth something.
I must have one of the earlier versions of the Palo album. Copyright 2004-2009, because there are no illustrations, and I love illustrations, it makes locating spaces easier. This album may also be a second because the lower left hand corners have been cut off. I am not advocating for either album, just a thought to maybe save a little money. I have no other albums with which to compare.

Palo just issued a new catalog. Their album line has been vastly increased, and they say they now cover every country in the world. This seemed rather sudden to me, but the catalog and the list is quite extensive and impressive (Scott eat your heart out - this is what you used to be).
For several years now, Palo pages have have the picture of the stamps in the spaces. They have many different options as well as regards to the types of album pages. Someone mentioned that they thought Palo may have obtain the rights to use Steiner's page layouts. Maybe that's how they were able to do get everything in their album line. I don't know for sure about it, but it seems logical to me that it could have happened.
I use Bill Steiner's pages and supplement them with custom pages made with AlbumEasy that have a similar look and feel as Bill's pages, for variants that are not included in Bill's pages.

I am a bit late to this conversation and apologize for that.
I use Steiner pages for certain collecting areas - right now, namely US Used, Haiti and Dead Countries.
I also use Palo for my Israel collection.
I love the Steiner Pages. They are especially useful for my dead countries as I can print and use whatever I need as I need it. The flexibility is tremendous and you just can't hardly beat the price.
Palo. These are awfully nice albums. They do use the Steiner system, and the spots for stamps are illustrated (b&w or color). They offer a couple of quality levels and hingeless if you prefer. The pages are a unique size - right at 11 inches tall and just a smidgen shy of 10 inches wide.
Future trends are not free to start, but their updates are colored and free!
May not be the right place and may just be a coincidence, but I have Steiner Canadian album pages on a CD that match exactly, except for borders, with a Palo Canadian Album that I also have. I do not know about any other countries, but think it is worth investigating before spending big $$ on Palo Albums. If this post is a no-no then moderators, please delete.
