What was the original selling price by Postal Commemorative Society(PCS) for their Golden Replica stamps? Just inherited a large collection, just want to see how much money was lost/wasted!. Thanks. Dave

If memory serves, and that's a questionable asset, I believe it was $6.25/issue.

Memory serves you well, Dan. I sold my uncle's sets on eBay a few years ago for an average of $2 a cover, with nothing over $5. At bidStart, they did worse. All were store prices.

A local dealer here gets them once in a while when he buys collections. He puts them in silent auctions, but not one that I know of has ever gotten 1 bid, even at just $10 starting bid for four or five binders full of this junk. He doesn't try to sell them anymore, usually just dumps them in the trash.

We ended up donating them at a stamp show as a door prize for each kid that came. It was a hit with the kids; they could choose the one they wanted. Sadly, there were only three kids but that's a different post (future of philately).
