Roy:
From my copy....
Bermuda airmail rate 14 Feb 1938 - 30 Sept 1946: 10-cents per 1/2 ounce
North & Central America & Caribbean 1 Nov 1946 - 30 Jun 1961: 10-cents per 1/2 ounce
Hope this helps!

No worries, mate!
Feb 14, 1938 10c per 1/2 oz
Nov 1, 1946 NCA - see North and Central American parts of composite tables
Going to same:
Nov 1, 1946 - 10c
Jul 1, 1961 - 13c
May 1, 1967 - 15c
The table goes dark at Jul 1, 1971, so I would probably have to go to another table if that doesn't answer your question.
Lars
OK, David, you win! (I saw your post after finishing mine).
...but, what were the rates during the month of October, 1946???
Oops!
(Just teasing).
Lars
Lars, I don't have Tony's book in front of me, but the table going dark likely indicates the end of the Central American rate and consolidation into a single UPU international air mail rate.

Yeah, that's why I said I would have to go to another table if he needed anything past June 30, 1971. Roy said his B&W went AWOL, so I assumed he was familiar with the format and knew what I meant.

Thanks everyone. The reason for the question had to do with the Pan Am Airmail System Test of Nov. 1, 1946. My article on the subject (actually written over 10 years ago, regardless of the date shown in the Stamporama article) can be found here.
The article was reproduced in the Airpost Journal this month, and quite a bit of discussion has arisen regarding whether or not Bermuda was included in the test. Many members of the AAMS have written to me with samples of properly executed covers to Bermuda because it did not appear in my list of 28 destinations that were part of the test (according the the documentation I had).
This confirms my opinion that Bermuda was not announced as part of the test, even though the Pan Am office received covers and executed them, because the purpose of the System Test was to promote the drop in rates to the Western Hemisphere of 10c per 1/2 ounce. Bermuda was probably not included in the announcement because the rate had already been 10c per 1/2 ounce since 1938. The same reason Mexico and Cuba were not included, because rates were already lower for those destinations.

i started a collection of Test Airmail covers precisely because of Roy's article, which I printed out and added to my file. I was lucky once to stumble on a batch of 10 diff test covers that were merely described as RTS, and not the more descriptive and accurate international test airmail covers. No one collects RTS, so i got it uncontested and well underpriced. And, thanks again, Roy. I love the article.

Anybody have a copy of Wawrukiewicz, U.S. INTERNATIONAL POSTAL RATES: 1872-1996 ? My copy has gone AWOL.
I need the airmail rate to Bermuda, pre- and post-November 1, 1946
Thanks for any help.
