A nice addition to my Minnesota meter collection. On the side you can't see it says: "Priority Mail (We Deliver For You): Drop Shipment (See other side for handling instructions)"

It seems to me that the drop shipment contained bulk mail items that were then sent via bulk business mail? Or am I confused (happens more than I would like).

Anyway it is a fun addition of a Catalog LBA meter to my Minnesota Meter collection and an unusually high value not normally seen on meters.

re: US Drop Shipment Item Tag with Meter

Now that I think about it more, and look at it, it makes more sense. The postage on the meter pays for the cost of mailing the presorted, bulk mail items contained within the "Drop Shipment" to the PO, to be treated as Business Bulk Mail.

I wonder why they refer to this as "Drop Shipment" or why it was sent Priority Mail. I wonder what the franking on the meter is paying for. Unfortuantely, the date of 1995 places it outside the range of my rate book.
