I thought I would post this here, rather than under the GB section, as this may amuse others.

I bought this at a local stamp fair a few months ago:

Image Not Found

It's a sheet of Royal Mail self adhesive dummy stamps. It was produced in 2001 in the run up to the GB Christmas 'peel & stick' issue of that same year. These are the same size as the issued stamps and were to be used to train Post Office staff how to peel a stamp off a sheet. Rolling On The Floor Laughing

I wonder if they ran refresher courses?

Perhaps a training seminar could be introduced on how to cancel a stamp on an envelope with one of those funny stubby, inky things with back to front characters.

I know...I'm just dreaming. I wouldn't want employees to risk repetitive strain injury....just carry on using those nice thick black marker pens over those silly labels. Rolling Eyes

It would be really great if they cancelled with something other than ball-point pens, using lots of pressure on the stamps. I know, how about a proper cancellation instead! I wonder if they train for that!!
