I thought I would post this here, rather than under the GB section, as this may amuse others.

I bought this at a local stamp fair a few months ago:



It's a sheet of Royal Mail self adhesive dummy stamps. It was produced in 2001 in the run up to the GB Christmas 'peel & stick' issue of that same year. These are the same size as the issued stamps and were to be used to train Post Office staff how to peel a stamp off a sheet.

I wonder if they ran refresher courses?

Perhaps a training seminar could be introduced on how to cancel a stamp on an envelope with one of those funny stubby, inky things with back to front characters.

I know...I'm just dreaming. I wouldn't want employees to risk repetitive strain injury....just carry on using those nice thick black marker pens over those silly labels.
