Hi Everyone;
I have a few also, plus a couple hundred town cancels from England, as well. I didn't know that there was a catalog for such specialized material. I just like to cull it out of regular duplicates to list for those that are specialists.
Happy collecting

Hi Everyone;
I have some interesting advertising cancels on British stamps. I have one with "Nestle's Quality Street, Magic Moments", a type of fancy candies, ofter given for gifts on the holidays. I also have one with "Washington Apples", and the growers association apple logo. Another one I have is a surfer girl in a bikini, but I can't tell from the text, what is being advertised.
If anyone has any interest in acquiring any of those, message me thru the private messaging system, available in the member profile area.
For those of you who are newbees, clicking on my name in the sidebar to the left, will take you to my member profile page . At the very top of my profile page is a button marked, "Send a Message". You can do this to send a private message the only the recitient will see, for anyone who is a member of SOR.

The French postmarks with a fancy slogans are called "flammes"- and they seem to be uniformly neat and clear in their application. AFAIK there is no on-line catalogue as such, but if you visit the website "flamme.philatelique.ouvaton.org" then click on "recherchez les flammes" you will find a list of A-Z postmarks by town - your examples may be shown or not.
Large sorting centres have struck in France too, so regrettably there will be no flammes in the future. You should be aware that these are extensively collected in France although monetary value is not high.
French collectors seem to be much more creative in their collections than the rest of us, and seem to be interested in everything - ploughing through French collector's websites can be fascinating way of spending a few spare minutes - and French is a fairly simple language to follow in print at least - speaking it and understanding the spoken word is something else entirely!

Just curious. Do they have a catalog for these? I 've acquired a collection of about 260.
