I don't sell very much, so all of my glassines are previously used and usually marked in some way. I use a sharpie to mark out the old notations and write mine, but most of the ones I receive are marked with either ink pen or a small label stuck to the envelope.
A Sharpie (or similar) is best for writing on glassines. However, I like the recipient to be able to reuse the glassine, so if it is new, or gently used, I use either "Post it" notes or tape, or some other form of label which can be removed.
I use Sharpies on the glassines. I'm practicing for the entrance exam so I can go to work for USPS.
Hi Everyone;
I never mark glassines, but use slips of paper that others discard and cut into envelope size and mark on that instead and insert in envelope. My sister gave me two cases of 8½x11 fanfold paper. When I tear the strips off and put into inkjet, the fuzzy edges create lint or jam the printer. So I cut them up and use for inserts.

That's all right for inserts, as long as the paper is acid-free.
What do most collectors use to mark glassine envelopes? Does one work better than others? I find using a sharpie is easy to write but what do others use?
