"The first child recorded as using the new service came in 1913 when a boy was delivered a distance of one mile for the cost of fifteen cents. His parents were not taking any chances of non-delivery though, as they insured the package for $50.00."

Greetings SOR Members,
I'd like to call your attention to two new articles that have been posted to our site:
YOUR PACKAGE IS IN THE MAIL by member Frank Tonge recounts the shortlived, but nonetheless amazing, period in which children under 50lbs could be shipped by United States mail.
The Uniquely Colorful Stamps of the British Empire by member Steve Swain, provides a beautifully illustrated survey highlighting the diversity of color used in classic British Empire issues.
Both articles are well worth a look!
Sincere thanks to Frank and Steve who are both multiple contributers to the site – your efforts are very much appreciated.
Best Regards,
Ralph
