Historic Philatelic Articles

Philatelic Journal Articles from the 1870s through to the early 1900s

HISTORIC PHILATELIC ARTICLES

The following are articles taken from various Philatelic Journals from the late 1800s and early 1900s that are in the public domain.  You will find articles related to general stamp collecting, the origins of postal history, humourous tidbits, "philatelic gossip" and much more.

Most of the Journals have been written in English or French.  English spelling in the original Journals have been maintained even when not accurate according to modern English.  Please direct any errors in translation from the French Journals to English, as well as any typos (or incomplete words in English texts of English Journals) to SOR member Poodle_Mum or the webmaster.

**Please note that due to the time frame of the writings of these Journals, the terminology is not "politically correct" in terms of today and as such, some may find some terminology offensive**
