Greetings from a former upstate New Yorker (Poughkeepsie).
That's interesting, I spent a few years upstate growing up, with my mother.
She still lives up there, and in Poughkeepsie of all places!
I spent two weeks in the Adirondacks between August and September four years back-loved it!
Welcome from someone who escaped upstate NY (Binghamton area). I was there for six years, and hated it. Spent lots of time in Ithaca, Syracuse, and the City, as much as I could.
But welcome to you here!
Peter
Welcome!
I am also an Empire stater collecting European colonies.
Tom
welcome from another upstate guy who works in the City
Welcome. Enjoy your sojourn with us.
And you say that Syracuse is better than Binghamton? I did four years in Syracuse. That was more than enough for me!
Welcome aboard! I'm a former WAAAAAAAAY Northern New Yorker (Massena and Waddington). Hope you enjoy Stamporama as much as us 'old-timers' do!
And it's good to hear from someone on the younger side of things!
Marilyn Noll (SeawayMa) :-)
Yes, welcome to SOR, a most pleasant spot for stamp collectors.

First i want to say welcome from the beautiful Hudson Valley..except Poughkeepsie..i just spend two months on the Grand Jury there and you really do not want to go here now ! i knew a couple of guys from Massena in the service..they talked funny..i am not sure if is New York State.

Actually Queens...
I'm a young (ish) collector (26 years old) of general worldwide issues with special love for those from certain times and places; the Russian Revolution and immediate Civil War and its immediate aftermath, above all, followed by pictorial sets from the British, French, and Italian Colonies. I'm, like many of you, attracted to the art and history of these little objects.
While I'm no means new to philately, I recognize I've still much to learn as about the hobby as I do about the stamps themselves.
Regards,
Stampcuratorix88
