Welcome to Stamporama Manfred. Please make yourself at home. We have lots of people who are not native English speakers here so you are not alone.
Cheers,
Antonio
Welcome Manfred. This is a great bunch of people. From what I have seen so far, there is nothing wrong with your English, it's probably better than mine.
Welcome Manfred,
Don't worry about your English. This is a stamp site, not an English lesson site. Most of us "natives" write English that would make English professors turn over in their graves. Your English will probably be as good or better than us "native" English speakers. We are always glad to pick up another stamp collector.

Manfred,
Welcome aboard. 56 years does sound young -- if you are 66 like me.

Manfred, Welcome to the SOR. No worries on your English not many of us here would have any chance trying to communicate in German.
I collect the world but consider Germany probably the most important country to collect.
From the beginnings of modern postal service with The Princes of Turns and Taxis to the world wars of the 20th century German philately has more to offer than any other country.
My collection is pretty good but there is nearly a bottomless well when it comes to all the influences and subsequent postal issues that is part German philately. Germany and my other collections can be found by following the link below.
Manfred, nice to have another German enthusiast. Germany is one of the few countries I collect, and I'm delighted to have another friend on whom to call for help.
Wilkommen. As to English, others have already noted that our use of our mother tongue would occasionally make the great Mr Higgins blush.
Nice to have you on board.
David

Hello everyone,
My name is Manfred. I´m from Germany and will be 56 years young on 15th of February. Visited this site lots of times and thought it would be a good idea to join. I hope I can contribute some of my knowledge, at least about German stamps and certainly hope to learn from others.
I´ll try to do the best with my English, I hope you will forgive me if I make a mistake or two with my spelling.
Till then and greetings
Manfred
