I am fascinated by Argentina Officials. (the Official Departments in particular).
I came across a "Kneitschel Specialized catalogue" some years ago, when I bough a collection for very little, and have been fascinated by the details. So many paper types, printing types, wmks types, etc....even just sizes (as seen in this page for scott o31).
Some of the cheaper (in Scott) official stamps are impossible to find! Been looking for years! anyone collects these and has some extras to trade?
I recall someone (name escapes me )on StampWants discussion board doing a phenomenal study on the very common series of the 1940s-1950s. Wish I had saved it. Does anyone recall it?

I like the Ministeriales as well and agree: pretty difficult to get some of these. You just don't see them anywhere.
I think I know the study. It is on a website as well. Must check to see if I bookmarked it.

The variations in Argentine Official Department stamps with Ministerial overprints is mind boggling. let alone the difficulty of getting just ONE for each slot in the basic list. (and I am still not there!)
Don't know why I ever got interested in that route, but it cannot end happily, and I am thinking of abandoning it and selling many of the variations I separated...selling them as if they were just duplicates.
Even just Watermarks can be a full time job, such as just for one type, the lozenges: Lozenge Thick vertical, thin vertical, Lozenge horizontal thick and thin , German paper, Italian paper, stamp color variations, stamp size variations, o/p positions, O/P errors...and more
Headache! If only one could buy a bag full of the stamps to explore further, but in spite of their low catalog prices, they are hard to get.

i will try to do a rough roundup of what i have in the back of book duplicates..i would not know a rarity from what i consider minimum value stamps. Even that takes time .

Its Ash Wednesday..things will go a bit slow...so if i can mention my Argentina stamps. I became interested in Argentina and built up some nice early ones in my Scott Internationals when i saw a collection on ebay 1945-1979 mint never hinged in a lighthouse hingeless album. I won it for 99 dollars and someone spent a lot of money on complete sets in that one...i usually like to build my own collection...but there are exceptions...so there i was good until 1979...moved up a big 10 years from my International albums...Then i saw a collection on Steiner pages to 1985...it was mostly pages but it did have pages for the officials that Scott seemed to forget about in their internationals after 1959. So in some cases i have triplicate duplication...but once they are in my albums they are like foster kids..i hate to part with them..ones that are in cards or loose..thats a different story.
