I know he is now a partner in the Kelleher auction group. While surfing today I ran across this retail Literature list on lne:

http://www.michaelrogersinc.com/books.htm

I have some interest in some of the literature offerings on there but when clicking elsewhere on the site I get a message that because of his commitments, he no longer accepts stamp orders. Is this a reference only site or does he still sell literature? I could email him direct but based on past experience I won't get a reply.

Anyone out there know if the literature offerings are still valid?

re: Michael Rogers, Is he Completely out of Retail Selling?

I welcome being corrected on this, but he's out of business as an independent entity. The shop and auctions that were based in Florida are gone. I would very much suspect that the philatelic literature is gone. (In fact, I think I bought a little bit that they were closing out on eBay several years ago.)

Kelleher does show this online presence for his internet/mail sales:

http://db.kelleherauctions.com/php/ms.php

You could always contact them to see if any of that phil lit is still available. Even if it isn't online, it may still be available.

If you don't get a reply to an email, I'd call them.

Personally, I was sad to see this transition happen, especially because of the loss of the retail operation.

re: Michael Rogers, Is he Completely out of Retail Selling?

I just went and looked at the site you linked to.

It's definitely been trimmed down considerably. For instance, it used to describe a number of staff people -- now, it just describes him. Given that they took down the regular price lists, but did not take down the literature offerings, perhaps that's encouraging. However, I clicked on the link to add a title to a shopping cart, and it comes up with the announcement to Kelleher.

So honestly, I'd email Kelleher or call them next week.

Just my 2-cents' worth.

I agree with philatarium. It was a big loss for me in Orlando when Michael "merged" with Kelleher. I know he lives down in South Florida now. BOB

re: Michael Rogers, Is he Completely out of Retail Selling?

I'm afraid you re right. He appears to have closed own all retail operation under his own name.

It's nice he left the literature pages up in order to give browsers some idea of what might be available if you look for it. You just can't get it from him.

He had a number of reprints of short articles for sale. It'd sure be nice if someone could make these available to collectors. Maybe the China stamp Society could do that on their site?

Saw him a few months ago at an Orlando show. He said he's retired. I believe he's living in S. Florida around Ft. Lauderdale near his mother. was hoping he'd restart down there.
Ah, well! Sure miss those auctions. loved to go to them even though I felt like a pinfish in a shark tank.Sad

For what it's worth. I was at a Hollywood (FL) Stamp Club "Go-Go" Auction on May 30th and Michael Rogers was there and had several Lots/Collections that were receiving a lot of attention.
