Image Not FoundRoy, thanks for thinking of us with the booklet of scenes from Kingston N.Y. I was in my late teen or early 20's when tore down this beautiful historic postoffice in midtown Kingston. I thought it an outrage...and then they built a fast food chicken place on the former site !Sad

Fortunately we now have a bit more respect for our architectural heritage.

In the 50s my home town had a 13th century meeting room ( Moot Hall). They pulled it down to extend the Building Society ( a type of mutual bank ). It was the oldest surviving building in town. They would not be permitted to do it today. Thousands of buildings have been lost, but fortunately it is now very difficult to wilfully demolish such a building today. However I think you can still allow it to fall down naturally.
