Welcome JJJ , i do not know much about D.C. dealers but i did attend the big show there in 2006. I used to go to the Dutch Country auctions in Wilmington Delaware and there were quite a few dealers from Baltimore there.
Welcome from Manitoba, settle in and enjoy. Use the search feature for things that catch your interest and ask away, usually someone has an answer.
Welcome JJJessee. I'm in the Northern VA area myself. There is an APS stampshow in Richmond Thursday, August 3, 2017 - 10:00 to Sunday, August 6, 2017.
Yes, Lutok, I've been thinking about that one.
Welcome JJJ from a very hot Fort Worth, Texas.
Welcome aboard from sunny Minnesota.
Welcome!
I live in NC but am in the Stuart and Martinsville area regularly.
Welcome JJJ. You probably travel by me when you go to and from DC.
I'm near Charlottesville. A little over half way there. Might have to check out the Richmond APS show myself on the 2nd

I am a Virginia Tech alumnus (go Hokies!) and lived in No Va after I graduated. My wife grew up in Arlington.

Thanks.
I grew up(still growing) in the Abingdon area -not too far down the road from VATech. I'll be settling just west of Leesburg if things go as planned.

Hey, Folks.
Fluffing up the albums here. Started collecting at about age 10 in '65. Started with Harris Liberty Album, approvals from Globus Worldwide Approvals, what was available from Woolworths, rummaging through parents and grandparents old mail(never found much). I may have a few non-US from those days, but have always steered to Domestic Postage. I put everything aside for about a Saturn Year, and dug it out when my kids were young, but the bug never bit them. I bought as postage, discount postage, covers, Mail auctions, and show bourses for a few years.
Now, another Saturn year has about passed, and I'm getting things in order just ahead of my 4 grand-daughters are already approaching pre-school. Stamps are a vivid guidebook for elementary social studies, or so I found them. Project at the moment is to just get everything cataloged and in order. I favor the Lindner T-Blank system. My focus now is 3-6c plate blocks by numbers. They take a lot of space and time to hunt, but it keeps me off the streets.
I'll post a few album page photos as I get things in order, if that's welcomed.
I grew up and live in SW VA, but my family has established in the greater-DC area. As soon as I can "retire", I'm moving up there. I already visit every other weekend. DC is a much stronger stamp area than Southern Appalachia. Wife and I went to the National Postal Museum last month - a real treat.
Thanks for reading and preemptively for all the philatelic wisdom, lore, and advice you dispense.
