Gday to all and sundry from sunny Queensland. Beautiful one day, perfect the next.

I havent collected stamps for 30plus years but the old boy passed on his stamp album after he headed off upstairs. He must have gotten a lot of them from his own dad as some go back a way.

There are stamps from all kinds of places - oddball locations like Tanna Touva, Togo, Sudan,Iran, Republique of Liberia, Tanganyika and all the usual places - UK, US, Europe and so on.

I started reading a little the other day and now am addicted! Incredibly interesting stories surround stamps in general and fascinating ones on occasion. In the album, there is for example a stamp of Adolf with a Berlin postmark. Who could have sent that letter one wonders and what were the words written in the letter!

Anyway i shall throw photos on from time to time, hopefully in the correct areas of the website for others to either enjoy my naivety or enjoy my luck! tehehehehe!

That's a look it up question.

"In the Yiddish dialect of Hebrew, a cobber is a friend, comrade or good companion. In old Australian slang, a cobber is a good buddy, a pal ('ga day, cobber!)"

Dont worry, its friendly. At least its not like all those recent made-up expressions coming out of the US that noone comprehends. There is at least a heritage angle to most of our slang.

Sheepy, that farm of Mr White is epic! In the days before salt came through and ruined a lot of the pasture i see.

Gday Kapul. The weather must be ugly up north right now. I have buddies in PD sweating like old cheese apparently and more months of it to come. You must keep your stamps in the fridge?
