My favorite Christmas card! They're going off to Christmas dinner. Are they planning on eating the little girl?

re: How About Some Christmas Cancels?

Tom,
I have two postcards from Hong Kong mailed on Christmas Day...

These 2 postcards were mailed on board ship by my brother-in-law from the USS Port Royal CG73, a guided missile cruiser, while docked in port at Hong Kong on Christmas Day in 1995. (I put them on top of each other to zoom in on the postmarks.) He had to use USA stamps on the cards to be cancelled by the sailor doing postal clerk duty. They then ran through the mail sorters in Des Moines, Iowa, USA where I live. Hong Kong was still under British control in 1995. If you know someone serving in the navy deployed on a ship, you could get a December 25 postmark by having them send you something on Christmas Day, just like this.

Merry Christmas to all,
Linus

Here are my favorite Christmas seals. They are from the first thirty years of the 20th century. They appear to be somewhat officially issued as they featured the royal family.

Thanks for showing those Christmas Seals, Mitchell!

The early Denmark seals are pretty much my favorites! (I do like the early US ones as well, though.)
