Lately i have been thinking back 62 years to my High School days. Most teenage boys had an alpha male that they at least looked up to. Malcolm was one of them..17 years in age but probably six years more in demeanor and experience than the rest of us. Malcolm did not look like the young men of today..you could count his ribs...but everything else was pure muscle.Malcolm could build cars and he could drive..i remember one car he was fond of a six cylinder 1952 red ford convertible that he put a truck engine in to squeeze out a few more cubic inches. You could hang with Malcolm or not..that was up to you..but if you wanted adrenaline you went with him to the rolling skating rinks or just riding from own to town. We had some close calls with older guys and police chasing him ..but like i say Malcolm could drive. Like many of my friends Malcolm did not bother to hang around for a High School Diploma..he saw no need for it to earn a living. At 17 he joinned his father working on the railroad. We were a small school and after graduation everyone went their own way.
