Here's my experience:
I had an amazing time. It's been 7 months of planning. They arranged for us to park in security entrance, we had an usher with us the entire time. Box seats right over the stage. They kept watch throughout the concert to make sure everything was ok. They had changed the lighting system for me and about 15 minutes into the concert they must have realised the lights were reflecting against the guitars and they literally rearranged the stage right then.
Afterwards we were being escorted back to the security entrance and the usher who had been with us for the evening wasn't there but another young fella was there. As he was escorting us, he started getting giddy.
When I came around the bend of the one hall she was waiting to meet me. Surrounded by security, our original usher and one other usher who had come with us and then disappeared, and a few fans who had managed to slip in. She walked passed them to me. I'm enclosing pictures.
As I was being put in the car, a fella came running from her tour bus and said "Joan wants you to have these" and handed me 2 dozen peach long stemmed roses.
She talked to me and she was amazing. One month ago I barely made it out of the hospital after 18 seizures in 6 hours and not breathing. Last week I was in the hospital again. All I've had my focus on all year when things have been hard was thinking about this concert. I never imagined it would be so magical.
I had written an email last January to Roy Thomson Hall and also her production company. Not a sob story, I don't believe in those. I just wanted to let her know what a great influence she has been on my life. I asked if possible, after her tour they could pass on my email to her.
She was actually waiting to meet me!
I'm still in shock. It was absolutely surreal.

I will never forget that night. She's been my hero all my life - everything she stands for, everything she has fought for - I want to be like her when I grow up.

A Service Dog gives a person with a disability independence. Never approach, distract or pet a working dog, especially when (s)he is in harness. Never be afraid to ask questions to the handler (parent).

Some of you know I've been preparing for the finale tour concert of Joan Baez.
