Nice, but before my time.
However, the picture is reminiscent of my youngest son and I working on our stamps together. We each have our own collections. We often shared, swapped and traded stamps between us.
I have the issue framed and on my wall in my office / stamp room! I found the issue in a store that sells old stuff.
Very nice illustration! I was learning to read in Mrs. Fetters' first-grade class that winter. I remember Dad working on his US collection in those days. He got me started collecting a few years later.

I was less than six months old so not a collector yet. It would be nice to have a copy of that, though.
I had another 11 years before I came into existence. I do remember Bob Hope and the wood paneling, though.

I started collecting stamps when I was 11 years old, that would have been Feb. 1954. A very
nice illustration and it brings back a lot of memories.
Eleven years before I was born... and the wrong country, too! I was born 20 years too late.

Good one Bob, i was an ancient 15 at the time..but my priority was saving up for a 30/40 Krag military rifle to go deer hunting. If i had that Krag to sell today i could purchase a couple of stamp collections.
