I was at a flea market today and i picked up a bundle of 1933 Century of progress booklets and guides for a fraction of what i would have had to pay if i purchased them piece by piece...here is how you assemble a motor car.Image Not Found

Wow..I remember that Fisher Body nomanclature in the door jam of my Granpas early 70s impala or some other GM sedan. Cool. Didnt realize the Fisher name went back that far

Musicman, this was the 1930s but it was almost like Henry Fords assembly line.."now that the frame is ready for the engine,the next move is to get the engine ready for the frame, its like a couple of shade tree mechanics building a car.

GM used that 'Body by Fisher' slogan for years and years. They blew it when they started using it in South America. Someone in GM's advertising arm used a literal translation - Cuerpo por Fisher. 'Cuerpo' could be translated to 'body,' but not in the sense they meant. A better translation is 'Corpse by Fisher.'

i purchased a 49 chevy for $225 bucks in 1960 when i was in the service in Nebraska.Had no problems until i wrecked it.
