i can not help but remember those fascinating colorful stamps of Central and South America When i was nine. Our U.S. stamps were all one drab color.Image Not Found

Ecuador put out some attractive stamps in the 1930s as the set from which your stamp comes is an example. Not only were they colorful, but large too, and. as a youthful collector, colorful and big was better.

They are attractive stamps. This type of issue tends to confuse me. I see an airplane so I assume I should look it up in the BOB. Then I look at it again, and it days mail, not air mail. *sigh*

I couldn't resist! I have had a soft spot for all of pre-1950 Latin America since the late 1960s.
