Sorry to hear of the loss of your friend.
He was a member of Stamporama, albeit inactive over the last two years, but joined in 2013.
Not too many here will have known Richard. He joined at a time when he was selling his collection and all things technical did not come easy.
But I know there are still some members here who belonged to the old-time auction venue, Stampoffers. They will have known him well, especially on the Chatboard where his humour and good manners, and the fact that he lived outside the USA/Canada area, meant he was given the title 'Foreign Minister'. Yes, there were many other titles on that Chatboard including King & Queen !!
I 'met' him on the site not knowing at first that he lived 15 minutes away from me. It was quite odd as I recall. But once the news was out then we got together every week for stamp fun, food and discussion. It started way back in 2004, just after his wife passed away.
I have been to see him every week since then.
Last night he passed away peacefully in his sleep and was laid to rest this afternoon in Netanya, Israel.
My week will not be the same from now on. It's hard to fill a void like that, especially when stamps have been on the menu.
R.I.P. my friend.
