Here is an full-page advertisement from the 1882-83 R. L. Polk & Co. Indiana State Gazetteer and Business Directory. These steamers served Indiana and Kentucky along a short section of the Ohio River.

If you can get your hands on it, there is a great old western series starring Darrin Magavin and, for a while, Burt Reynolds, called Riverboat. I have it on DVD and it is really fun to watch, I remember it from when I was a kid!

Riverboat was 1959-61 with Burt being replaced midway through the series.

No, there was not too much of a menu on T.V. back then...but they loved Perry Mason.
