How old is your daughter, Tim? That might give us an idea of what she considers "old". Did she see someone on a stamp that she considered an "old dude"? If so, what stamp?
Bob
My daughter Bec, is 24. Here are some examples of "Ugly Old Dudes on Stamps".
Hi Tim,
Most of the Personality stamps of India features 'Old Dudes' which are made to look ugly by the stamp designers - she will find a lot of these on Indian stamps.

Anything with Winston Churchill, Abraham Lincoln or Eleanor Roosevelt should do the trick!
I was going to point out Eleanor Roosevelt wasn't a dude then I looked at her stamp.
Sometimes the virtual world doesn't allow for the missing components of body language, facial expression or voice inflection in communication.
Still if you ever read some of Eleanor's love letters to her "friend" you'd probably get where my quip originated!
Ügly Öld Düdes ... there are so many .... don´t know where to start, so I grabbed an album without looking which.
These 3 handsome men are not the only I could find in this album of German stamps, but they were the lucky winners
I particularly love the grumpy man on the 3rd stamp
I got a good laugh yesterday from my friend's 12 year old son who was helping me sort my stamps. All of a sudden he held up a USSR stamp to me that had an image of a man as well as I guess something he invented & he said "Geez! Look at this ugly guy on here!" Then there was "Tsk, tsk, what a way to ruin a really nice stamp, geez!" while shaking his head.
I suddenly remembered this thread & told him that there has been a discussion in my club about "ugly old dudes on stamps". The poor boy fell off the couch from laughing so hard.
Later in the day when his Mum stopped by he said to her "Ya know, I found this really cool stamp with a (whatever it was) & they went & ruined it by sticking some ugly guy on it & boy was he ugly!". So we all got a great laugh.
Anywho, I had to share this story & give you guys a good laugh too.

These two might not be that old, but they sure are ugly !!
As with "old," "ugly" is relative; here is my take on ugly people.
Hi Everyone;
I can think of several, but don't know if they were ever on postage stamps.
1) Alfred Hitchcock
2) Sydney Greenstreet
3) Peter Lorre
4) Yoda (was on a US stamp)
5) Emperor Palpatine
6) Lon Chaney, Jr (was on a US stamp)
7) Bela Lugosi (was on a US stamp)
8) Gort ("The Day the Earth Stood Still")
9) Mick Jagger
10) Claude Akins
11) Milburn Stone (Gunsmoke)
12) Richard Boone (Have Gun Will Travel)
13) Joan Rivers
Back to the sand dunes
TuskenRaider
Mick Jagger was so ugly, when he was born, the doctor slapped his mother!
Mike
Alfred Hitchcock
Padre Manjon
Find a series depicting famous people, and you are highly likely to find some not quite so handsome faces among them. The artist of the West German definitive series of 1961, for instance, managed to make the famous Germans look rather grim and grumpy.
Anyway, looking handsome rarely was a prerequisite of being successful in one's chosen occupation as long as one had convincing arguments and/or the proper backing ... There were even - by common standards - b*tt-ugly actors. However, as we say in Germany: "Better marked by life than painted by Picasso!" ;-)
See, there is a good reason not to have one's picture taken.
Some dudes from sesame street are ugly too :

Yes. He certainly qualifies.
My daughter was going through some of her stamps this evening and decided that she would like to start a new topical collection called "Ugly Old Dudes on Stamps". She asked me to ask you all for suggestions of stamps that should be included in her new collection. Please give her some ideas, preferably with pictures posted on this thread.
Regards ... Tim.
