Hi All

I have this "Blue Flea" stamp that has the letter "P" printed on the back. I know that Germany, and other countries, would print 'control numbers' on the back on every fifth or tenth stamp, but, this is different. What would the letter "P" represent here?

Thanks a lot

A Service Dog gives a person with a disability independence. Never approach, distract or pet a working dog, especially when (s)he is in harness. Never be afraid to ask questions to the handler (parent).

Thanks all for your replies.

Out of over 2000 Blue Fleas in my collection, I have only one or two of the "Yellow Fleas"

Actually, no. These were issued in close proximity with the "Blue Fleas". You just don't see that many of them and yet, they are not that expensive.

Huh, I never heard the term blue fleas used to describe these diminutive postwar German stamps. Am correct if I term the yellow fleas as printed in the color yellow? Are they exactly like the blue stamps, same format? Is there a Michel Catalog number for the yellow fleas?
Thanks,
Bruce

In Phil's 1995 Michel the yellow labels are under the Allied Occupation - French Zone- Wurttemberg-Hohenzollern - "Zwangszuschlagsmarken" (page 784) they were used to collect money for rebuilding houses in Germany.
