As I search thru the various threads, I'm becoming aware of how knowledgable and helpful the members are ... but I'm also painfully aware of how much pride, joy and
appreciation of the beautiful bits of artwork collected is shown by the members.

I say painfully aware because I too took pride in my US unused collection ... but not because of its beauty, or because of stamps giving faces and picturing events that shaped my nation. My pride was in filling the empty spaces, completing sets and finishing pages.

Well, thank you, Stamporama ... I think some of it is rubbing off!Thumbs Up

There's nothing wrong with filling those empty spaces! Just never define your collection by what you don't have, be happy with what you have (so true in life as well).

Completing sets and pages can be a challenge. Always worthy of a little celebration and pride!

re: New member ...

This is funny because I have been working on my 1940-1990 unused US for a few months, remounting onto my own pages. I am very proud of this collection, even though it's not particularly valuable, creatively shown or special. What I am understanding by looking at these stamps again are the issues and people deemed important enough to place on a postage stamp at that time.

At some point I will want to get back into my classic used and on cover collections, but for now, its quite relaxing just putting a stamp onto a space and celabrating the complete pages.

Keep at it. I havent had this much fun with my collection in a long time.
